LG releases the V30, again, with the V30S ThinQ

Remember when we saw that press release from LG about new AI features coming to the 2018 version of the V30? Well, it’s here, and LG has officially announced the V30, again.

For all intents and purposes, the LG V30S ThinQ really is just the V30 again. It features most of the same specs as last year’s model, albeit with 6GB of RAM instead of 4GB and some extra internal storage. It also comes in fancy new colors, and I do have to admit I like the Moroccan Blue.

So what’s the big deal? Well, from the name it’s apparent that this device features LG’s new ThinQ AI platform. ThinQ is the platform that basically just means it uses artificial intelligence, whether it’s a phone, washing machine, or any other gadget or appliance that LG makes. Most of the V30S new features were already detailed previously by LG, including the smart photography features, image recognition, and some exclusive voice commands.

There are a few new things worth talking about, though. LG is adding a bright mode to boost low light photography, and the V30S is still the thinnest and lightest smartphone above 6 inches. If you liked the V30, you’ll definitely like the V30S, even if there’s nothing to tempt you to upgrade early.

If LG announces anything else AI related, we’ll keep you informed. In the meantime, be sure and keep up with the rest of our MWC 2018 coverage.
