The delays related to Samsung's release of the voice-activated portion of the their digital assistant platform, Bixby, are well known and seem to continue with no end in sight. Until now that is if a tipster on Reddit is to be believed. According to this source, the official release date is set as next Tuesday, July 18th, for the U.S. market.
The source, a Reddit user going by “Bixbyguy” posted a picture of a computer screen with a message headline that reads “Bixby Voice Launch Tuesday, 7/18” followed by a call to action for some tasks to be completed to “ensure we are retail ready!” Below that there is a link to some “NEW” Bixby training via a webinar. Thus far Redditers are trying to figure out whether the source is a Samsung insider or possibly someone with AT&T. Whichever the case may be, the user has only had a Reddit account for six days and no other activity, so it is difficult to determine how legitimate this may be.
If accurate, sources are also trying to figure out whether they will actually be able to update their Bixby app on July 18th or if there will be an additional wait. The majority seem to think this will eventually be pushed out as a carrier update meaning there will be an additional delay. For those who have unlocked non-carrier devices, the update may appear in the Samsung App.

Although the delays have been a bit of a black mark against Samsung related to the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ release this year, the public seems to be pretty nonplussed by it. That could be due to the easy and existing availability of other options like the Google Assistant.
