Last week OnePlus officially took the wraps off the new OnePlus 5 smartphone and general retail availability is slated to open tomorrow. If you are considering placing an order and want to get an early idea of what you get and some initial hands on impressions, TalkAndroid's own presenter Kent Oki put together a video just to whet your appetite. Check it out after the break.

As Kent reveals in the video, he is not very familiar with the OnePlus OxygenOS system that sits atop Android, but his initial impression is that it is a nice interface. The use of OxygenOS is one of the features that makes the OnePlus 5 unique. OnePlus also took time to work on producing a slim device without sacrificing things like the audio jack. Kent notes the OnePlus 5 has a nice, sleek look and feel thanks to the work OnePlus did with the design despite the criticisms that the device is very similar, perhaps too much, to the iPhone.

Along with the phone itself, OnePlus shipped four different backs for the OnePlus 5 to help change up the look and feel. Kent shows how easy it is to pop one of these on to the device. In what should be no surprise for an unboxing video, we also get a look at what else is included in the box like the USB charger and the USB-C cable.

The OnePlus 5 will be available for $479 in Slate Gray with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and for $539 in Midnight Black with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
