Add another device to the list of Android 7.0 Nougat smartphones as AT&T has released the update for the LG G5. Owners of the device will have to be content with just getting Android 7.0 and not Android 7.1, but they will get the bulk of the improvements that Google makes available via Nougat. The release comes on the heels of AT&T starting to update the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge with Android 7.0 Nougat.
Some of the additions that are included in Android 7.0 Nougat include split-screen app support, improvements to doze mode and an overhauled quick settings panel. Included with the update to Nougat are the latest security patches dated January 1, 2017. Besides the update to the operating system and security patches, AT&T does not indicate any other changes are included in the update.
The update is almost 1.5GB in size and AT&T will want users to be on Wi-Fi before attempting to download and install the update. Once on board a device, users should be good to go on build number NRD90U.
