Verizon’s Cheapest Unlimited Plan Ever Comes With Limits You Should Know

Verizon is offering a cheap $25/line unlimited plan, but you may only lock in the base price while extra fees and perks can still rise.

In another carrier attempt to keep customers, Verizon has a new offer on the table. For a limited time, you can get multiple lines of unlimited 5G data for just $25 per line, for a total of $100 per month on their Unlimited Welcome plan. The same plan previously cost $120 for four lines, so you're getting $20 monthly credit to sweeten your switch.

Get up to four lines now

All four lines on Verizon's Unlimited Welcome offer unlimited talk, text, and 5G data with no caps or throttling thresholds. The plan itself is their most basic unlimited plan made for people who just need a phone that works without any unnecessary add-ons.

The carrier is offering a three-year price lock guarantee, so what you pay for it today and through 2028 remains the same, with no changes in taxes or regulatory fees. But it seems the price lock only applies to the base monthly rate for talk, text, and data. Perks, taxes, fees, and surcharges can still go up.

Again, it's worth noting that the $25 per line price only applies if you enable Auto Pay and paper-free billing. If you skip those, you'll be paying more. The deal is also exclusively for new Verizon customers, not for anyone already on an existing plan.

Additionally, there are notable limitations built into the plan that prevent you from accessing 5G Ultra Wideband. It's Verizon's faster, higher-capacity network available in denser urban areas.

If you need it, upgrade to Unlimited Plus for $40 per line or Unlimited Ultimate for $50 per line. Hotspot data is off the table on this tier entirely, so if you rely on tethering your laptop or other devices to your phone, you may want to skip the offer.

Streaming is a tad bit cheaper

Another benefit awaiting you is a 45% discount on top streaming services through Verizon’s perks program. It applies to Netflix, Max, Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, but all with ad tiers only.

If you already pay for services like Netflix, you can link your existing account during activation without canceling. But if you already pay for services like Max, you must replace your existing subscription with the Netflix & Max with Ads perk during activation.

Canceling the Verizon perk means your old Netflix or Max subscriptions may automatically resume billing you. You could end up being charged twice, especially if you're subscribing through a third party like Apple's +play.

That aside, you can get unlimited texting to over 200 countries. Unlimited data while traveling in Canada and Mexico is also up for grabs. However, speeds may drop to 3G after the first 2GB abroad.

Overall, Verizon's deal is taking a bold strike at T-Mobile, which offers its own $100 four-line plan through its Essential tier. But T-Mobile's plan caps data at 50GB per month and offers no price-lock guarantee. Visit the official website to know your next steps.
