360-degree video and images are going to be a big selling point for tons of devices going forward, but manufacturers need a way to utilize and show them off to make that happen. LG has a unique idea for that, and they're bringing it to the G5 first.

You'll soon be able to download 360-degree images and set them as your wallpaper on the G5, giving you a taste of the widest panoramic shots you've ever seen.

The wallpapers are reminiscent of the old live wallpapers that were hot when Android was first released, although hopefully these are less of a battery drain. When you physically move your phone around or swipe through home screens, you'll see the wallpaper shift and change. You can also view the images in cinematic view on the G5, if you don't care about using them as a wallpaper.

LG is releasing 12 photos first with 4 new photos added each month from May until November. You'll also get the ability to use your own photos shot with the LG 360 Cam as a wallpaper background too, so if you're not happy with what LG supplies, you can roll your own.

Has anybody had a chance to take any 360 degree photos yet?
