Demand outstrips supply for BlackBerry’s Priv as shipment dates slip to November 23rd

The BlackBerry Priv has generated a good amount of positive publicity and excitement, which is understandable considering it it BlackBerry’s first Android-powered smartphone, and it’s also the first slider we’ve seen in the Android world for a long time. It would seem that the handset is so popular that BlackBerry has had to push the shipping date back for new orders.

Pre-orders originally began shipping on November 6th, but anyone ordering a Priv now will have to wait until November 26th for their handset to ship. A BlackBerry spokesperson told MobileSyrup that:

“We’ve begun fulfilling shipments as of November 6, but due to demand we’ve phased shipments and this is for next wave.”

While consumers are never happy when shipping dates get pushed back, it does appear to be good news for BlackBerry, in that demand is outstripping supply. Are you ordering a Priv? Let us know in the comments below.
