Vivo X5 Max

Earlier today, Vivo unveiled the X5 Max, which is undoubtedly the world's thinnest smartphone measuring in at just 4.7mm thick. The handset is constructed from a single sheet of aluminium and although immensely thin, it still manages to pack some pretty impressive specifications.

Enclosed in the all-metal casing, you'l find a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, a 1.7GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 and 1GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 64-bit CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter and a Yamaha YSS-205X music chip.

Straight out of the box, the X5 Max runs the latest build of Android 4.4.4 KitKat skinned with Funtouch 2.0. However, the device is expected to receive the much-anticipated Lollipop (5.0) update in the first quarter of 2015.

According to Vivo the handset will be available to purchase in China on Monday, December 22, for CNY 2,998 — which equates to approximately $485.
