Looking at the picture above, it doesn’t leave us with much to say what the real cause of the exploding Droid 2 was, or better yet…if it will happen again. Although Motorola is hard at work dissecting the case, and no doubt will take every action to ensure this doesn’t happen to anyone else, we find the internets is buzzing with speculation to which component would cause a Droid 2 to explode in someones ear.

Motorola ear-muffsWe’re not going to contribute any false accusations on which specific part delivered the FAIL function resulting in a customers bloody ear…no sir. We will however tell you how to protect yourself from future blow-outs until Motorola can get the recall, if any is needed, underway. As you can see, we advise using some protective outerwear. We’re hoping Motorola is willing to give away these mock-up hardhats complete with protective ear covers to anyone who senses the Droid 2 becoming abnormally hot to the touch (typically a first sign of pending exploding doom). We understand that these may not appeal to most people who are concerned about fashion sense, thus, we are encouraging another more fashionably appealing option, which most of us probably have hiding in a closet somewhere anyway. See belows example.

Yes, we truly aim to assist any Droid 2 users out there who may be in fear of their lives…err…ears. Motorola should look to Apple as an example on how they deal with faulty phone issues. Regarding their faulty antennagate in the iPhone 4…give users a rubber case which aids in the iPhone4 reception (somehow). In Motorola’s case however, protective headgear deemed safe by the government.

From all of us at Talk Android, try these at home, and protect yourselves out there.

If they are afraid of their ear getting bloody, why have that crappy ear gear instead of putting the phone in a dam quarantine till this whole situation is fixed?

The real scary part is that this could potentially happen to any phone! What’s more dangerous having an exploding phone in your pant’s pocket near your groin or in a shirt pocket near your heart. I can see it now Motorola Defy v2.0 bomb/explosion (inward/outward) proof :)
