To call the OnePlus One's launch ‘smooth' would be nothing close to the truth. OnePlus experienced production issues and software woes. Then there was the sexist contest and the alleged exploding device. The latest issue has to do with the StyleSwap covers, a replaceable back panel made out of various materials to give some personality to the OnePlus One. After failing to pass quality assurance tests, OnePlus is not comfortable mass producing them. StyleSwap covers have been called off. If you need a replacement, OnePlus recommends contacting technical support.
Perhaps the biggest hindrance in the launch is something that still exists today. The invite system would require prospective buyers to hunt for an invite just to purchase the handset. Now, OnePlus says a new pre-order system will take its place. The pre-order system, which will go live in October, will have specified dates and times when absolutely anyone can place an order. The company will ship units as they become available.
OnePlus calls this new pre-order system “a blessing,” but I call it another botched attempt. It seems that OnePlus really has not figured out how to master production. Despite them being somewhat new to this entire thing, they should have worked out possible kinks and then released the OnePlus One. Instead, they are moving ahead while many things are still broken from within.

Its not a blessing its a botched attempt to get the last few remaining customers to drop some cash because the new iPhone and coming nexus has or will entice anyone away who’s still debating picking up a OPO ( that amounts to no customers I think because the whole thing was a fail from day one )
