Gmail adds support for 13 new languages, covering 94% of the internet’s languages

Gmail has officially added support for 13 new languages, bringing the email service's total up to 71 different languages. This is a pretty important milestone for Google, as it means that 94% of the population on the internet can use Gmail. It's not 100%, but it's pretty close.

The new languages that Gmail now supports are Afrikaans, Armenian, Azerbaijani (Azeri), Chinese (Hong Kong), French (Canada), Galician, Georgian, Khmer, Lao, Mongolian, Nepali, Sinhala, and Zulu. When working on support for these languages, Google worked very closely with linguists to make sure that all of the small details and nuances of the languages were addressed, so reading and using Gmail would feel natural for new users.

Gmail is one of Google's best services, so it's good to see the service still getting plenty of attention.
