When you're rocking a brand new $1000 phone, you generally want some kind of protection on it. On the other hand, you spend all that money and buy this super sleek, well-designed piece of tech, and it really sucks to put a giant case on it and cover up all of that engineering and design work.
I have that dilemma constantly, at least, and Totallee apparently empathizes with people like me. They offer an extremely slim line of phone cases for your device that promise protection without covering up much of the phone itself. Let's check one out for the Galaxy S10.
The Totallee cases for the Galaxy S10 family promise sleek and pocket-friendly protection for your phone, and they register just 0.02″ thin. The clear cases clock in at 0.03″, but that's a pretty negligible difference either way. They only weigh an ounce, too, so you're legitimately adding almost nothing to the shape and weight of your phone. That part is great.
Rocking one on a Galaxy S10 really shows off Samsung's thin design, but the case does add a little bit of extra grip to the phone so it's not so slippery taking it in and out of my pocket. It also helps to resist scratches around the bumpers and back of the phone.
Totallee also uses precise cutouts for the buttons of the case, including the power button and volume buttons. Being able to actually touch the button of your phone sounds great on paper, but in practice this case is so thin that it actually just felt like there's an extra layer over the buttons. Pressing them isn't any harder than without the case, but finding it by feel in the dark gets a little trickier.
But is it a good case? Honestly, yeah. The Galaxy S10, as slick as it might look, is a really slippery phone, especially around the edges. Totallee adds just barely enough thickness to the phone to make those curved edges easier to manage. I notice fewer accidental touches on the sides and way less panicked moments of fumbling the phone. Not that those things happened all the time, anyway, but that extra layer was certainly appreciated.
The cases are pretty easy to install, too, so if you're thinking about rocking one only at home where you don't need as much durability, it's a good option.
Speaking of durability, Totallee claims that their cases will protect against bumps and scratches. I definitely believe the scratches part, and a small drop or anything most likely won't be a problem. I'm not sure how much I'd trust the case if it fell off of a table onto hard flooring or something, though.
Off the phone the case does feel kind of cheap, simply because it's so thin. It feels much better once it's actually on a phone and picks up some rigidity, but that would make me skeptical of using it for someone that's really rough on their phones.
But as far as I'm concerned, I am not that person. I'm never in a situation where my phone is in much danger, and I can't remember the last time I've dropped or damaged. one. I still like cases to protect against scratches and to add some extra grip, and the Totallee case delivers perfectly to that end.
It's not for everyone, obviously, because some people really like their Otterbox cases. But if you're looking for something as sleek as the phone itself, you can't go wrong here. It's one of the best thin cases I've used, mostly because it's actually a thin case, but it manages to avoid the horrible feeling of those knockoff $1 cases you can find on eBay.
Totallee also offers a two-year warranty on their stuff, so if it does break or chip, you can hit them up for any customer service questions for almost the entire life of the average smartphone.
I'm pretty sure I'll be sticking with this case on the Galaxy S10 for a while.
