S Finder might be the coolest feature on the Galaxy Note 3. It's the ultimate tool for searching for anything on your device. It will not only find music and videos, but it will also search for both text and handwriting in your Scrapbook and Notes. If you have a lot of items in your Scrapbook and/or you have a lot of Notes, you are going to rely on S Finder a lot. You can even fine tune the parameters such as tags and/or date ranges.
It's easy to get to S Finder. Just open the Air Command by hovering your S Pen over any screen. Then press the button on the S Pen and the Air Command fan will appear. Just select the 4th option, S Finder. You can then type or write whatever term you want to search for and set the parameters.
Hit the break for my video showing you how it works. Also, be sure to check out our other Galaxy Note 3 guides.

Ever since my last update where they added the mouse features of the spen I cannot seem to find S-finder anywhere. Its not on the pen fan menu, its not in apps, or in app manager, its not embedded with groups of apps like the google group or Samsung group….
I only found it by luck while looking for something else, but I cant seem to create more convenient links….
Right now the only way to get to S-finder is to first open up a pen window. Then edit/add apps to the menu of apps compatible with the window. Eg: Calculator.
Amy ideas about getting s-finder back to the fan or onto a page as a thubnail?
Mine is doing this all the time now. Since the last update it seems that after hitting the home key, it will go back to home, then right to S finder. Really annoying and starting to make me wonder if I do want to stay with the Note when the 5 gets released.
How do you stop S-finder from popping up on its own? My phone is constantly launching S-finder I can hardly do anything else
my phones doing the same thing ^
Hi. I don’t know if you found the answer yet, but I just discovered why that kept happening to me. If you happen hit the menu button (on the bottom left next to the home button) and hold it for ANY length of time longer than a quick trap the S-finder screen pops up. It was driving me crazy. I’ve had my phone for a year & it would pop up here and there when I’d be doing anything on my phone. I finally decided to do some internet searching the subject. I never found a direct answer but saw some pics on a website @ tips & noticed one pic showed holding that button for a second. Eureka, that’s the answer! Sometimes the way I’m holding the phone the thumb area on my palm will rest on that menu button causing the S-finder screen to open. I hope that helps!
Sorry for the typo. That should read hold it longer than a quick “tap” not “trap”.
Thank you!
THANKS. I found this answer doing a Google search. Knowing this will save a lot of frustration. I knew I needed to stay away from the Menu key because Search (S-finder) pops up. But I never knew exactly how to access the Search function.
