The newly introduced WF-1000XM3 are as terribly named as ever, but they're also some of the most impressive totally wireless buds on the market. They're some of the best sounding headphones in this category, too. What's not to like?

They're a little more pricey than some of the competition, running $229 without any promos. But if you're willing to spend a little bit more for quality, you'll have a tough time beating Sony here.

Best for Samsung Galaxy phones – Galaxy Buds

Samsung isn't quite ubiquitous with Android smartphones, but sometimes it feels that way. There's no doubt that Samsung is the biggest fish in the pond, with tons and tons of users opting for Samsung Galaxy phones every day. If you happen to be one of those, Samsung also offers the Galaxy Bud to complete your ecosystem experience.

We reviewed the Galaxy Buds earlier this year, and found them to be a really compelling option for many users. You can use them with any Android phone or even an iPhone, but they really do shine when paired with a Galaxy. They're customizable, comfortable, and with great sound quality. The battery life leaves a little bit to be desired, but they can be quickly and easily recharged with Samsung's reverse wireless charging feature. Trust me, that one was intentional.

They're also cheaper than some other “flagship” headphones, running just $129. At that price it's worth taking a shot if you're in the market and you already have a Samsung phone.

Budget friendly – JBuds Air

When these wireless headphones first started to hit market, they had the same problem as many other new pieces of tech; they were really expensive. Fortunately that's not really the case anymore, and while you can spend a lot of money if you want, there are several good options that won't break the bank.

JLab Audio's JBud Air wireless earbuds, for instance, are just $49, and you're getting a lot of bang for your buck here. They support Bluetooth 5.0 with several different EQ settings to fine tune your sound preferences, and that's going to be the way to go for someone that wants to ditch the wires but isn't too concerned with audiophile-grade sound quality. They're still competitive on features, too, and you can interact with your favorite voice assistant and take phone calls with these. They're IP55 rated for dust and water resistance, and best of all, they're pretty portable and easy to carry around.

If recharging another device is your biggest complaint with wireless earbuds, you need to check out Anker's set of earbuds. Even the heaviest of users won't be scrambling for wall chargers with these.

That's not all they offer, though. The form-fitting earbuds deliver some pretty excellent passive noise cancelation, and the graphene drivers can push great sound quality without breaking the bank. If you're looking for something middle-of-the-road because you don't want cheap but you don't want to throw hundreds of dollars some headphones, JBL is going to be your best option. The JBL Tune T120TWS earbuds sit an affordable $99 price point, but deliver on signature JBL audio quality and a customizable, comfortable fit.
