Totally wireless earbuds are all the rage these days. Tons of phones don't even have headphone jacks anymore, so more and more people are going wireless with their headphones. It's incredibly convenient, too, especially with how portable they are and the fact that you don't have a wire to get tangled up in your pocket. For casual usage, I think it's also a big plus that you can use a single earbud at a time and leave the other ear tucked away, so you can still interact with people without committing to plugging up both ears.

But there are a ton of options. Every company has their own option it seems like, which means you have a lot to sort through. We're going to list some of the best truly wireless earbuds available to make that easier for you.

Sony is a well-known quantity when it comes to audio equipment, and they don't slouch with their headphones. They deliver on pretty much all budgets, and their totally wireless earbuds are always an easy choice for someone that wants a pair of headphones that tick as many boxes as possible.

The newly introduced WF-1000XM3 are as terribly named as ever, but they're also some of the most impressive totally wireless buds on the market. You're getting a very comfortable, adjustable fit, Sony's excellent active noise canceling, battery life of up to 24 hours with fast charging, and the case even uses a USB-C port. They're some of the best sounding headphones in this category, too. What's not to like?

They're a little more pricey than some of the competition, running $229 without any promos. But if you're willing to spend a little bit more for quality, you'll have a tough time beating Sony here.

Samsung isn't quite ubiquitous with Android smartphones, but sometimes it feels that way. There's no doubt that Samsung is the biggest fish in the pond, with tons and tons of users opting for Samsung Galaxy phones every day. If you happen to be one of those, Samsung also offers the Galaxy Bud to complete your ecosystem experience.

We reviewed the Galaxy Buds earlier this year, and found them to be a really compelling option for many users. You can use them with any Android phone or even an iPhone, but they really do shine when paired with a Galaxy. They're customizable, comfortable, and with great sound quality. The battery life leaves a little bit to be desired, but they can be quickly and easily recharged with Samsung's reverse wireless charging feature. Trust me, that one was intentional.

They're also cheaper than some other “flagship” headphones, running just $129. At that price it's worth taking a shot if you're in the market and you already have a Samsung phone.

When these wireless headphones first started to hit market, they had the same problem as many other new pieces of tech; they were really expensive. Fortunately that's not really the case anymore, and while you can spend a lot of money if you want, there are several good options that won't break the bank.

JLab Audio's JBud Air wireless earbuds, for instance, are just $49, and you're getting a lot of bang for your buck here. They support Bluetooth 5.0 with several different EQ settings to fine tune your sound preferences, and that's going to be the way to go for someone that wants to ditch the wires but isn't too concerned with audiophile-grade sound quality. They're still competitive on features, too, and you can interact with your favorite voice assistant and take phone calls with these. They're IP55 rated for dust and water resistance, and best of all, they're pretty portable and easy to carry around.

If you need something lightweight to toss in your bag, you can't go wrong with these.

Even the heaviest of users won't be scrambling for wall chargers with these.

That's not all they offer, though. The form-fitting earbuds deliver some pretty excellent passive noise cancelation, and the graphene drivers can push great sound quality without breaking the bank. It uses Bluetooth 5.0 for better latency and connection with your phone, too, making these a great option for almost anyone.

The charging case is going to be a bit bigger than average to get all that battery life, but they're priced pretty well at just $99. We're big fans of Anker quality here, though, making these an easy choice.
