Verizon has announced an overhaul of its pricing and loyalty structure. The wireless carrier is scrapping device upgrade and activation fees while launching a new rewards program.
Verizon Loyalty is open to every postpaid customer regardless of which plan you're on. You can opt in via the My Verizon app to eliminate activation and upgrade fees entirely, which the company says is worth up to $40 in fees per device. Two new plans are also here with exciting benefits.
What is Verizon Loyalty?
Verizon Loyalty is a new program open to every postpaid customer and you'll opt in through the My Verizon app. It removes activation and upgrade fees entirely, includes Verizon Dollars (a cash-back reward paying 3% back monthly just for being a customer), and includes Verizon Shine (a recurring giveaway program with weekly perks).
We’re fundamentally reshaping Verizon inside and out to put the customer at the center of everything we do. We’re listening, designing for them, and moving faster than we ever have before. For too long, this industry has burdened people with complex plans, forced upgrades they don’t need, and so-called ‘rewards’ with tons of caveats. We are working to ensure everything that we do is simple, clear and delightful.
Dan Schulman, Verizon CEO.

Verizon Dollars works automatically after enrollment with no spending threshold or specific purchases required to earn the monthly 3%. Starting in July, you can redeem the accumulated Dollars either at face value toward devices and accessories through Verizon or at up to five times the value through partner brands.
Verizon Shine runs a sweepstakes every Monday, with each one offering a different all-expenses-paid experience. The early lineup includes a VIP trip to the FIFA World Cup Final with David Beckham, an Outside Lands festival experience with an artist meet-and-greet, a New York food tour with chef Andrew Zimmern, and a flyaway trip to the NFL's first game in Australia.

There's more teased for later, including a KATSEYE dance tutorial in Paris and a year of Verizon bill paid in full. Shine also offers daily perks through the app.
See what Verizon’s new plans offer
Verizon Simplicity is a new flat-rate mobile plan offering customers Verizon's best 5G network, including 5G Ultra Wideband, with no upcharge for better service. It's priced at $45 per line, with a $30 promotional rate if you're switching from another carrier.
The plan includes unlimited 5G Ultra Wideband data, 10GB of premium mobile hotspot, roaming in Canada and Mexico, and satellite texting as standard features. You can keep your current phone, buy a new one outright, or save with a certified pre-owned device, or opt into annual phone upgrades through the Simplicity Plus or Simplicity Pro tiers.

Home internet can be added starting at $35 a month. You can also layer on themed bundles, like an entertainment bundle with Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Netflix, and HBO Max, or a travel bundle with international calling and Travel Pass days.
On the other hand, Verizon One is a converged plan combining mobile and home internet into a single bill for new customers. It runs on the same 5G network as Simplicity along with Verizon's fiber network, and costs a flat $70 a month with taxes and fees included.
