Samsung TriFold Price Leak Drops And It’s Still Painfully Out Of Reach

It’s still above the $2,000 range, so you probably still can’t afford it. Bummer.

Samsung’s long-rumored Galaxy tri-fold, a magnificently thin dual-folding device, has gotten fresh price leaks. There's good news and then there's not-so-good news. There are claims from an unverified source that the device will launch in South Korea first on  December 5.

Eventually, it'll reach the shores of the United States, China, and the United Arab Emirates. Pricing is around 3.6 million won (≈$2,446). That's the good news as it's noticeably cheaper than the earlier leak pegging it at 4 Million won (≈$2,800). At the same time, it's bad news because… well, it's still expensive.

Samsung's TriFold is an elegantly designed risk

With a double screen comes double the problems of the single-fold fold device. Although the new Galaxy Z Fold 7s are incredibly refined, with tighter hinges and better durability ratings, the lived reality of older Fold owners are horrific.

You can scroll through Samsung Community threads, Reddit posts, or even just listen to people who’ve owned a Fold for more than 18 months to know what you're signing up for.

The line of death, an unresponsive inner panel, the sudden blackout along the crease. These are but a few reminds of how foldable OLEDs are still the most fragile parts of Samsung’s most expensive phones.

Hopefully, Samsung has thought about these things extensively and made backup plans for their backup plans if the device fails.

According to Korean blogger yeux1122, specifications expected so far for their trifold phone include a creaseless 10-inch dual-folding inner display with a 6.5-inch cover display. The refresh rate is 120Hz and peak brightness reaches 1,600nits.

There's some confusion around whether the phone will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite or 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. Hopefully, it's the second one as it's only just launched and the latest phones like OnePlus 15 have integrated it.

The phone will have three batteries with a combined 5,600mAh capacity and 45W wired charging support. The camera setup includes a 200MP main lens with 100x zoom, same as the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The camera is assisted by 12MP ultrawide and 10MP 3x zoom rear cameras.

Only one storage and color option available

Samsung has already shown the TriFold publicly earlier this month at the K-Tech Showcase in Korea. Then they spotlighted it again at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit 2025, although the specifications were a mystery at the time.

Now, with the specs fully leaked, it's been confirmed that Samsung is offering only one colour (black) and storage option for the Galaxy Z TriFold. We could be looking at 512GB storage with 16GB RAM or 1TB storage with 16GB RAM. Take it or leave it.

It's a smart company decision. You don't want to be selling an experimental product in massive volume.

Look what happened to the S25 Edge. It flopped so badly in October that the company was considering scrapping it once stocks ran out. The phone line may live to make a comeback with the next S26 series.
