Samsung is trying to create a cheaper entry point into foldables with the Galaxy Z Flip 7 Fan Edition this year. But the way they did it has left many people unimpressed. The brand seems to have reused a lot of the Flip 6’s design and then downgraded the internals.
The FE ships with the Exynos 2400 instead of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and only 8GB of RAM instead of the 12GB you see in higher-end foldables. Worse, they didn’t dramatically lower the price. At launch it was just $99 cheaper than the full Flip 7, which made the budget label feel misleading.
There is no sense getting it when you can just buy a discounted Flip 6 or even a Flip 7 on sale with a better processor. Basically, an overall package for about the same cost.
Z Flip 7 FE is now as cheap as it should have been
It seems Samsung has realized their mistake with the Flip 7 FE. The phone is already being pushed with aggressive discounts only weeks after launch. The phone, which launched at $899 and felt painfully close to the full Flip 7 in price, has dropped by $200. You can pick it up for $699. That’s a record-low this soon after release, and it shows just how weak the initial demand really was.

The deal was spotted on Amazon. Both Black and White versions are available at this price, and Amazon marks it as a Limited time deal. You'll want to hurry now and grab it before it ends.

Bottomline is that you can now buy the phone you probably didn’t want at launch. But for $699 it suddenly makes more sense for anyone curious about foldables on a tighter budget. The question is whether that’s enough to convince people who already saw through Samsung’s first pitch.
