Google hasn't played around in the foldable sandbox for too long. It had the Google Pixel Fold, a good first attempt, but very rough around the edges. Then, it followed up with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which refined the formula pretty significantly, though it was obvious how many corners it had to cut compared to the regular Pixel 9 Pro models.
This year, we're going to see the third-gen foldable from Google, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. While we don't know too much about it, we will only need to wait until August 20th for the full gist of it. For now, we get to look at renders, brought to us from the people over at Android Headlines. Google is going to be changing things in the color department.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold Will Be Letting Go of the Neutral Color Options
Last year, the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold was available in only two colorways. You could either choose Obsidian (black) or Porcelain (off-white). Those are Google's two most standard color options, so it was clear that the tech giant didn't want to try to go for anything too revolutionary for the first generation of its refreshed foldable design. Understandable.
However, it seems that Google feels this year is the perfect chance for it to play things a lot less safely. The neutral color options are out of the running. There will still only be two color options available, but this time around, you have to choose either Moonstone (a blue-grey) or Jade (a pale green with gold accents). That's a big change in strategy.
Besides the colors, though, there doesn't seem to be much set to change in terms of design. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold looks just as good as the Pixel 9 Pro Fold did. Hopefully, it will get notably thinner this year, as that will certainly make it a lot easier for it to compete with the Z Fold 7s and Honor Magic V5s of the world.
On the Spec Sheet, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold Won't Be Too Different From Its Predecessor
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is going to upgrade a few things on the spec sheet, but you should hardly expect a device that's unrecognizable from its predecessor. Here's a quick glance at the aspects of the spec sheet that have been rumored or leaked already.

The slight increase in the cover screen size will likely be due to Google shrinking the bezels down a little—the device's footprint should remain mostly the same. The increased battery will be the biggest in any foldable sold in North America, so that should definitely drive some traffic into the Google Store.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL Will Have the Same Four Colors as the Pixel 10 Pro
Yesterday, we showed off the four colorways for the Google Pixel 10 Pro. They're safe choices, but hardly bad in any way. Now, we've gotten a look at the options for the Pixel 10 Pro XL, its big brother (thanks again, Android Headlines). Interestingly, it has the exact same selection:

- Porcelain
- Moonstone
- Jade
The Pixel 10 will be the only model with daring colors this year, but for most people, especially those who will wear a case on their phones anyway, all of this doesn't matter.
