August 20th is the date to mark on your calendars if you're a big fan of Google's Pixel smartphones. That's the day the search giant-turned-tech giant will unveil its latest set of devices, the Google Pixel 10 series. Pixels are the place to be if you're a big fan of stock Android, innovative features, and a very dependable camera setup.
The lineup is going to remain the same this year, so you won't see a shakeup in device options, unlike last year. For those who want a phone that's very capable, but with a smaller footprint, Google makes the Pixel 10 Pro just for you. We've gotten an early look at all the device's colorways, as well as one small design-related change.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Will Arrive in Four Mostly Safe Colorways This Year

Google tends to save the more exciting colorways in its lineup for the cheaper devices, like the base Pixel model or its “a”-series variant. The reason? In my opinion, it comes down to power users being more likely to buy higher-end options, and at that price point, you're likely not going to see many people who want a vibrant lemon-colored device. That's why almost every manufacturer focuses on the more neutral colors for flagships.
Following a similar leak for the Pixel 10 yesterday, Android Headlines has given us a first look at four colorways that will be available for the Pixel 10 Pro, and unsurprisingly, the options won't be anything crazy.
- Obsidian (black)
- Porcelain (white)
- Moonstone (blue-grey)
- Jade (light mint green, gold accents)
If you've been following Pixel launches for a long time, you'll know that Obsidian and Porcelain are very regular entrants. Moonstone has a tinge of color to it, but not enough to be close to polarizing. Jade is the option for those who want a more fun color option, but its pastel softness hardly makes it a daring choice. It wouldn't be my first choice, but I like it a lot.
The Mirrored Metal Frame of Last Year's Pixel 9 Pro Might Take a Hike
I said something about a minor design change, and I have to admit it might be a reach on my part. Last year, the Pixel 9 Pro came with a reflective metal frame. While that might be some people's taste, others hate it and would prefer a matte option. I think Google might have heard that (to an extent) this year.
If you take a look at the renders for the Pixel 10 Pro from Android Headlines, you can see the back side of the frame, and there doesn't seem to be any reflectivity, even at the corners. However, similar shots of the Pixel 9 Pro certainly carried a reflective effect to them.

Google's official video of the Pixel 10 Pro on the Google Store also leads me to believe that the matte factor might have been pushed up a little. There's still some sheen to it, but not as glossy as last year. Let me know if you agree with me based on what you can see in the available renders.
Google Teases an Exclusive Discount for New Pixel 10 Buyers

Google has begun to tease the market with the Google Pixel 10 series, which isn't surprising now that we're a month away from launch. The design of the Pixel 10 Pro has been made official, which is cool, but even better is that Google seems to have an exclusive deal available if you sign up for its marketing emails by August 18th. You'll then receive the code in your email on Pixel launch day.
It's not clear how much the promotional code will be worth, but I wouldn't expect anything bigger than a $50 discount. Also, keep in mind that the deal is only available for new subscribers to Google's marketing emails.
