Google has confirmed its next Made by Google event will take place on August 20, 2025, in New York. At precisely 1 PM Eastern Time or 10 AM Pacific Time, you’ll be able to watch it live on YouTube. This year’s launch will reveal the Pixel 10 series, including the highly anticipated Pixel 10 Pro Fold, along with a new Tensor G5 chip, bigger batteries, and a telephoto lens on the base Pixel 10. We're also expecting the Pixel Watch 4 and new Pixel Buds 2a. Mark your calendar and set your reminders so you don't miss the event.

Official viewing times for the Made by Google event

A few days ago, Google sent out press invites to various tech blogs, stating its intent to launch the Pixel 10 lineup. We now have a clearer idea of the global viewing times. However, regions like Cairo and Dubai are missing from the timezone list.

If you're outside these zones, please check your local time or wait for the YouTube livestream page to go live. It’ll auto-adjust to your region and let you set a reminder beforehand.

Changes to the Pixel 10 are minimal, but worthwhile

One major upgrade for the Pixel 10 is the long-awaited addition of a telephoto zoom lens, bringing it closer to the Pro models in terms of camera capability. This would give the base model a triple-camera setup, possibly including a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10.8MP telephoto lens.

The new 10.8MP telephoto lens introduces true optical zoom, which is likely 3x or higher, and bridges the gap between the base model and the Pro series. The phone is also rumored to carry a 4,970 mAh battery, up from 4,700 mAh in the Pixel 9, and support 29W wired charging. It's small, but a welcome bump from last year’s offerings.

The most significant change seems to be the Tensor G5 chip, manufactured by TSMC using a 3nm process. TSMC is simply a far more capable chip manufacturer than Samsung, with a proven track record at the leading edge of semiconductor fabrication.

They manufacture chips for Apple, Qualcomm, MediaTek, and even Intel. It's clear why Google has shunned Samsung and finally placed its trust in the most consistent and reliable foundry in the world. That switch alone could mean significant gains in efficiency and sustained performance, solving many of the heat and battery issues that have plagued earlier Pixel phones.

So far, everything looks great both inside and out. However, if the phone adheres to the same frame as last year’s model, it may still feel heavier than it should. The Pixel 9 Pro was already noticeably dense for its size, and unless Google makes some design tweaks, that weight is likely to carry over.
