The slim Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is a pretty unique experiment from the South Korean OEM. It's been a long time since slimness has been a major consideration in regular smartphones (it's very different in the foldable space). Once phones hit the sub-8mm mark, there was little to complain about regarding the feel in the hand.

Samsung still went ahead to make a flagship that was 5.8mm thin. No one asked for it, but it's not something anyone would say no to… except for the small battery and the high price. Needless to say, Samsung's sales for the device haven't been up to expectation, but this Prime Day deal knocks the price so low that you might not be able to resist it.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Costs Less Than the Base Galaxy S25 Right Now

Considering how slim the Galaxy S25 Edge is, it's not much of a surprise that the device had to make major compromises with its battery. Sure, a silicon-carbon cell would have given the OEM a lot more space to work, but it has shown that it isn't quite ready to make the switch to that newer tech. As a result, you'll have to make do with the 3,900mAh battery the company has provided.

If you're fine with the battery capacity though, you might not be good with the price. The device launched at $1,099, making it more expensive than the Galaxy S25+. However, beyond a cutting-edge build, higher durability, and a 200MP primary camera, it doesn't get anything else to justify the $100 hike. It's not hard to see why Samsung isn't selling as many as it'd like. If only it were cheaper, it'd be bound to be more of a hit.

Speaking of a cheaper S25 Edge, today is the second day of Amazon's Prime Day event. The device is enjoying a nearly 30% price cut, with $315 slashed off to make the phone only $784.99. That's cheaper than the Galaxy S25, and it's priced attractively in that spot. That's for the 256GB model, and even the 512GB variant has been knocked down to about $900. The device is still fresh, so this is a prime time to grab onto it.

Another device that Samsung has released which is painfully expensive is the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. The wearable is the first of its kind, and being “ultra” in an existing lineup meant that it pushed the price way up there, though it brought a lot more than typical:

  • 1.5-inch circular AMOLED screen, 480 x 480 resolution
  • Sapphire crystal glass
  • Exynos W1000 processor
  • Android Wear OS 5
  • 32GB storage, 2GB RAM
  • 590mAh battery, 10W wireless charging
  • Altimeter, barometer, compass, heart rate sensor, SpO2 sensor, body and water temperature sensors
  • IP68 certification, 10ATM

With all of that, some people might have been able to excuse the $649.99 price tag, but not everyone. For those who couldn't excuse it, today might be the time to consider the device. A nearly 40% price cut knocks the price down to $399. That's still a lot of money, but a lot easier to swallow considering everything the wearable provides.
