Leaked firmware and internal model numbers recently blew the lid off Samsung’s late-2025 tablet plans. While we weren’t looking, the company has been quietly working to refine the Galaxy Tab S11 series. The tablets won't be using Qualcomm or even Samsung's own Exynos chips. Instead, they'll use a MediaTek chipset, courtesy of a partnership between both brands.

The Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra tablets will use an equally flagship Dimensity 9400 chip. It's the same silicon that's expected to push MediaTek closer to Apple’s M-series in raw capability. Oppo already launched the chip on the Find X8 in November 2024. Now, we'll see it work with a bigger device. At its center is one Cortex-X925 core running at 3.62GHz, with three Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores following it.

PhoneArena was among the first spotters of entries on Samsung’s own firmware servers and Geekbench listings. The Dimensity 9400 chip was internally referred to as MT6991. A device believed to be the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite then appeared under the model number SM-X406B.

Another tech leaker Alfatürk also shared information aligning with the initial report. firmware build codes were listed as X406BXXU0AYF9 / X406BOXM0AYF9 / X406BXXU0AYF9, tied to model number SM-X406B, which matches previous leaks about all the devices.

Altogether, the Tab S11 series will give us a blend of premium performance with large OLED displays, S Pen support, Android 16 with One UI 8.0, and possibly IP68-rated durability with a 11,374 mAh battery.

The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra launched in September 2024, and the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is expected to arrive around October 2025. That’s roughly 13 months apart and reasonably timed. The Tab S10 Lite may be released at the same time.

Galaxy Tab S10 Lite launch is also drawing closer

As aforementioned, Samsung is also readying the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite for launch. It's expected to ship with the Exynos 1380 chip and 6GB of RAM, similar to the Galaxy A54 and Tab S9 FE. The Exynos 1380 is a good mid-range chip built on a five nanometer process with eight CPU cores. Four run at 2.4GHz and 4 power-saving ones run at 2.0GHz.

The graphics chip is a Mali-G68 MP5, and it supports 5G network, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and fast RAM speed up to 3200 MHz. Although the Tab S10 FE is still fresh out on the market, the Tab S10 Lite is another welcome addition to expand our options of affordable devices. It will ship with Android 15 and One UI 7, though it may launch with One UI 8 depending on timing.

One UI 8 itself is now in its third beta phase and is available for the Galaxy S25 series. The Watch version of the software is also available for the Watch Ultra and Watch 7 wearables.

It's possible Samsung will launch the phone software alongside Galaxy Z Flip 7, Fold 7, and Watch 8 devices at their Unpacked event. The event already has an official date set for July 9 in New York.
