I haven't known many brands to be directly confrontational to the competition besides Samsung, but Realme has demanded attention with their new GT 7 Series. Naming the phone a flagship killer is a bold move, one that hints at deeper ambition and throws down a challenge to the big players.
We'll just have to see for ourselves if the device lives up to that claim. Their GT 7 Series has officially launched today at a global event in Paris, after having launched in China weeks ago with the Pro model preceding that launch as well. The lineup includes the Realme GT 7, GT 7T, and the special GT 7 Dream Edition.
7,000mAh is the starting point for Realme

I remember reading a Reddit comment where someone said that 6,000mAh batteries had gone to the grave. They were a passing trend when brands were still trying to stand out with raw specs. However, the market hasn't moved on as much as we may think from them. Asian manufacturers continue to pivot towards slimmer phone designs and silicon-carbon batteries in 2025.

There couldn’t be a better time to bring big batteries back and Realme isn't afraid to test the waters. Not too long ago, they teased a 10,000mAh concept phone. The Realme GT 7 is a couple numbers down, but it's still dedicated to delivering intense power. It comes with a 7,000mAh cell in a slimmer body, which is a combination we'd all like. It has support for 120W fast charging, and Smart Bypass technology that reduces heat buildup.

The phone launches with a 6.78-inch display with a Pro-Esports AMOLED panel and a peak brightness of 6000 nits. Pro-Esports may be confusing here, but it's really just Realme’s own branding to make the display sound more competitive and gaming-ready. What it actually means is that the screen is fast, bright, and super responsive, but not a special new kind of AMOLED.
The IP69 rating guarantees dust-tightness and water-resistance to the highest consumer grade. It also runs on the Dimensity 9400e, which is among the strongest chips available for Android phones right now. It’s built on TSMC’s four manometer process, and should run intensive apps at max settings with lag and typical slowdowns eliminated right away.

GT 7T and Dream Edition are just as elegant

In contrast, the GT 7T variant has a 6.8-inch display and is built around the MediaTek Dimensity 8400-MAX chipset, a performance-tuned version of MediaTek’s 8000 series that sits just below the ultra-premium 9400e found in the GT 7. But the phone shares the same core features as the GT 7. Likewise, the GT 7 Dream Edition is essentially the same phone in hardware and other areas.

The difference lies entirely in the design and presentation. It has a two-wing back design and engraved silver wings badge that you wouldn’t find on the other models. In its box comes a custom Silver Wing phone case and a unique F1-inspired SIM ejector pin. It even appears in the Aston Martin Racing Green color if you want a luxury sports-car look.
If you didn't already know, Aston Martin is a British luxury car manufacturer that has been around since 1913 and is especially famous for their impressive designs and powerful engines. You may remember their cars in many of the iconic James Bond 007 films.

Realme built all three phones with a new material called IceSense Graphene to the back of the phone. While it won't change the color the way the Realme 14 Pro series does, it will help the phone release heat faster and retain coolness even when you're pushing it hard. The surface looks pleasant to touch from the previews, and should feel the same in hand.

AI smartness, Buds Air 7 Pro, and more

It'd be taboo at this point to launch a smartphone without some sort of artificial intelligence. The Realme GT 7 series is not without it as AI Planner comes to life. It's designed to be an actual AI assistant built into your phone that helps you plan your day automatically.

Instead of manually typing out reminders or appointments, you can just double-tap your screen and the AI starts organizing things for you. It's also tightly integrated with Gemini to bring all the familiar names on the Pixel series.

The phones aren’t launching alone as Realme is rolling out the GT 7 Series as part of a broader ecosystem with the Buds Air 7 Pro. They’re the first in their price segment to come with Google Gemini AI integration, meaning that the AI features you’d normally only see on a smartphone or laptop are now baked into your earbuds.

You can have real-time conversations with someone in another language, and the earbuds will translate both sides live. If you need info on something mid-conversation or want to ask a quick fact, the buds can help you find it without your phone. It has up to 53dB noise cancellation, which competes with Sony, Apple, and other premium brands and promises 48 hours of playback with the case.
