Chinese brands have been going all out with their foldables and Vivo is one of them keeping that streak going with their X Fold lineup of devices. The Vivo X Fold 2 was launched last year, and this year is bringing the X Fold 3 to our hands along with an X Fold 3 Pro.
Today, we've gotten a good (and somewhat official) look at the device, the specifications that we expect it to come toting, and when it is very likely to launch.
The Vivo X Fold 3 And X Fold 3 Pro Are Going To Come With Flagship Specs
Vivo is changing up the formula this year, releasing two foldable models at the same time instead of just one. We're going to be getting a regular Vivo X Fold 3 along with a higher-end Vivo X Fold 3 Pro. Thanks to the Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, we know quite a bit about some of the specs that the Pro model is going to have, with an expectation that some of them will follow through to the vanilla model.
The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is expected to come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a top configuration of 16GB/1TB, a 5,800 mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging, and 50W wireless charging. It also looks set for a pretty impressive camera setup, with Zeiss optics for the rear layout which will have a 50MP main lens with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 64MP 3x telephoto. For selfies, it is expected there'll be a 32MP sensor on the cover display and another on the inner display.
Speaking of displays, the inner display keeps its 2K resolution and massive 8.03-inch wingspan from last year (making it perhaps the biggest folding display on a foldable) and the cover display comes in at 6.53 inches. We're also expecting other things like IPX8 certification, an IR blaster, and two ultrasonic fingerprint readers. It's said that the phone will be just 5.1mm thick when opened, which is very thin (the Magic V2 is 4.8mm, and still holds the crown).
Now, the regular X Fold 3 is expected to get the same screens, fingerprint sensors, IPX8 certification, and cameras. However, it will differ with a slightly smaller battery at 5,500 mAh, max wired charging of 80W, and if you're in love with the cutting edge of power, this might not be the device for you, as it'll have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 from 2022 running the show.
When Is The Vivo X Fold 3 Series Expected To Launch?

We haven't heard anything official from Vivo yet, but if a leaked graphic is to be believed, then the foldables are going to launch this month, on March 26th. That's closer than we expected, but it's certainly good news.
Expect Some Potentially Big Improvements Over The Previous Vivo Foldable
The Vivo X Fold 3 series looks set to bring quite a few upgrades over the X Fold 2. The devices are both going to be thinner (and allegedly lighter), come with water resistance, Android 14, more RAM, and significantly bigger batteries. The cameras get upgrades all around too. If you opt for the Pro model, you'll get a new chipset too.
