More foldable phones are entering the smartphone, but they're not exactly growing on the average smartphone user. Having to spend over $1000 on a phone simply because it expands isn’t a good enough reason — especially when you can perform similar tasks on your regular phones. Plus, they're heavier.
With more and more upgrades, we expect efficient design changes. Vivo's X Fold 3 Pro has a headstart in that direction. The Chinese company's phone is rumored to be the lightest foldable so far. Here's everything we know about it.
The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro packs powerful features behind a compact design

Tech leaker, Digital Chat Station, has spilled everything we should expect from the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro smartphone. The upcoming flagship will have a 6.5-inch (2748x1172p) external screen and an 8.03-inch (2480x2200p) internal screen.
The external screen alone doesn't have a significant size difference from Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 5, which is 0.8 centimeters less. But display size isn't a defining factor for a phone's overall weight. Since the X Fold 3 series phones will have a glass body, the Pro model may retain Schott's Xensation glass — the same “thinner than human” version used on the X Fold 2.
The X Fold 3 Pro will also use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is 30% faster than the previous Gen 2 version and 20% more power-efficient. Paired with 16GB RAM plus 1TB storage space, the phone is expected to be a powerhouse that runs smoothly through most heavy apps and games you throw at it.
The battery capacity is 5800mAh, supporting 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Extra features include dual single-point ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, infrared remote control, water resistance, and an X-axis motor.
Camera specs don’t leave much to be desired
DCS’s leak indicates that the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro will have two front cameras: a 32MP sensor on the cover display and another 32MP camera on the inner display.
The tri-camera setup at the rear will appear on a centered island. The main camera is a 50MP OV50H lens that's best for cropping and zooming into photos without sacrificing too much detail. Following it is a 50MP super wide lens that’s ideal for capturing landscapes, group photos, or fitting more elements into the frame.
Then there's a 64MP OV64B camera with a 3X periscope lens, significantly better than digital zoom. A V3 chip will also introduce 4K movie portrait mode.
The lightest Foldable is on its way to you
There's no official word from Vivo affirming that the X Fold 3 Pro is, in fact, the lightest foldable to enter the market. We also don't have word on when it will launch. However, tech experts and reviewers predict that we should see it by the end of March or possibly midway into February.
