The Samsung Galaxy Fit lineup is Samsung's series of fitness trackers for the more active and health-minded of us. They don't release annually like the Galaxy Watch does, with the last one — the Galaxy Fit 2 — having launched back in September 2020.
Well, good news! The Galaxy Fit 3 is coming soon, and thanks to leaks, we've been able to get an extremely detailed look at what the device will look like, some specs it will have, and some of the features that will be onboard.
The Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 Is Far From Being A Mystery

It's been almost four years since the last Galaxy Fit fitness tracker launched (I almost forgot it was a thing), while Samsung has been giving love to the Galaxy Watch lineup every year. It seemed like the Fit line-up was dead, but nope! There were whispers of its return, and this is the loudest whisper yet.
Popular X tipster Evan Blass dropped a massive leak on the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3, revealing every detail on the smartphone giant's upcoming fitness tracker. We know a lot about what it will look like, the hardware specs, and some of the features it will have. So, come closer, let's talk about them.
Design
I'm not a fan of the flattery of imitation, especially regarding tech. Unfortunately, Apple is constantly flattered by other companies, and the Galaxy Fit 3 seems to draw “inspiration” from a certain Cupertino device. The Galaxy Fit 2 (not to be mistaken with the Gear Fit 2) had a slim rectangular display, but the Fit 3 goes for a broader rounded rectangle that looks like an Apple Watch.
But on from that. The Fit 3 will have a sand-blasted aluminum chassis with a single button on the side. The Fit 2 had a polycarbonate body, so this is bound to feel a lot more premium (and likely come with a matching price bump). It also looks like the device will come in black, white, and pink colorways.
Specifications
We're yet to figure out what the Galaxy Fit 3 might be running internally, but there's a lot known about the more “outward” specs.
For instance, you'll get a 1.6-inch AMOLED screen and a battery that should be able to last nearly two weeks on just one charge. It will also be IP68 water-resistant, so you can wear it without worry while sweating heavily or in the pouring rain. Sans the band, it will weigh 18.5 grams, a big jump from 11.3 grams on the Fit 2.
Features
Of course, as a fitness tracker, the Fit 3 will come packed with the features that the healthy and active expect. That means you'll find exercise tracking — for running, cycling, track runs, swimming, rowing, and over 100 more. You'll get sleep tracking and an optical heart rate sensor, too.
This tracker will also come with fall detection and a light sensor, two features that its three-year-old predecessor couldn't boast of. However, it still won't add NFC to the mix, so that means no Samsung Pay.
A Galaxy Fit 3 Instead Of A Galaxy Watch?
It was 2020, the last time you had to choose between a Galaxy Watch and a Galaxy Fit, so now that the device is likely to launch soon, might it be the better choice for you?
Well, the Galaxy Watch 6 is an amazing piece of technology that can do many things. But for some people, it's a lot of extra money, bulk, and complexity. If you literally only need a smartwatch for the fitness features, you might do yourself some good by opting for the Fit 3 instead.
