There's nothing more that Google likes to do than to rebrand its products and services and this time its the turn of the little robot that is closest to our hearts. Fear not though, Google has been kind and given the Android robot modern refresh with a 3D aesthethic which looks rather good. Also given a lick of paint is the Android logo which now starts with a capital A which gives it a touch more gravitas than the outgoing lower-case a.

As you can see from Google's video above, the new bugdroid boasts a more versatile design which lends itself to any occasion. Whether its Builder Bugdroid or Disco Bugdroid, it's dressed up in the appropriate attire for both digital and real-life environments. Whether that means we'll see a live-action version of the bugdroid at the MadeByGoogle launch event in October is anyone's guess though.
The new branding will take a little while to propagate across the Android world, but we do wonder if we'll see an updated boot screen on the Pixel 8 series next month. There's no word if the new branding is the reason why Google delayed the launch of Android 14 launch either.
