As we await more details from OnePlus on when it will launch its first foldable we have news on the successor to the excellent OnePlus 11 5G which launched earlier this year. The OnePlus 12 as it's being called, has been shown off in a bunch of leaked renders which reveal the presence of a periscope camera.
The images come via @OnLeaks via SmartPrix, and show off a design that is deeply reminiscent of the OnePlus 11 5G albeit with slightly thinner bezels, with the rear camera housing being pretty much the same apart from the periscope camera being on view and the LED flash now sitting outside the main housing. Eagle-eyed readers will notice that the punch-hole selfie camera has been relocated to the top-center of the display. From the renders we can confirm that the alert slider is present in its customary spot aboce the power button.
It's important to note that the renders are based on real life images of the OnePlus 12 protype, so there may be some changes between now and the actual launch which we expect in late 2023.
We expect the OnePlus 12 to be the brands proper flagship for 2023, and as such it's expected to sport a 6.67-inch OLED display with QHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and high-frequency PWM dimming. We could see charging speeds bumped up to 150W (as with last year's OnePlus 10T) as well as 50W charging for its 5,000mAh battery.

According to the leaker known as Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 12 will be powered by the as-yet unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset which should give it a boost in performance, battery life, and AI capabilities. The camera setup is rumored to consist of a 50MP main camera (Sony IMX9- series), a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 64MP Omnivision periscope lens (OV64B), which should be a noticeable upgrade from the OnePlus 11's offering.
It's early days for the OnePlus 12 and we can count on many more leaks and rumors to spill in the lead-up to the official launch of the brand's next flagship. It's shaping up nicely though. What are your thoughts on the refined design?
