We reviewed Samsung's Galaxy A51 a couple of weeks ago and found it to be something of a lagfest, it's excellent build quality and versatile quad-camera setup being let down by the lackluster Exynos 9611 processor. Vodafone UK sent us a communique earlier today informing us that a 5G variant is now available with an upgraded Exynos chip that should noticeably improve performance.
The Galaxy A51 5G as it is known is powered by the Exynos 980 chipset that besides bringing integrated 5G connectivity is also much more powerful than the 4G versions Exynos 9611. Thankfully. Besides the chip upgrade, the Galaxy A51 5G also boasts increased battery capacity from 4,000mAh to 4,500mAh, and a bump in RAM from 4GB to 6GB, the rest of the specifications remain the same.
We don't have an official price for the unlocked Galaxy A51 5G just yet but it will likely cost a £50-100 than the 4G version's £330. Vodafone UK has it listed on their online store with delivery promised within the next couple of weeks if that's the way you want to go.
The new Samsung Galaxy A51 5G is available with 6GB of data for £34 per month (£29 upfront cost). Alternatively, customers can purchase the device on one of Vodafone’s new unlimited plans.
