Having been marooned on Android 9 Pie since the handset launched in early 2019, it looks like the day has finally come* where Moto G7 Play owners will see their phones get the Android 10 update. The use of an asterisk should warn you of the caveat to come, namely that Motorola is currently only pushing the Android 10 firmware out to users in Brazil.
The news comes a month after Android 10 began rolling out to the regular Moto G7 in a stable format. The Brazilian Android 10 update has build number QPY30.52-22 and includes native features such as a system-wide dark mode, smart replies, gesture navigation, and more.
Weirdly, the XDA report that the G7 Play is running on 32-bit software despite its Snapdragon 632 processor being 64-bit capable. It's an oddity, for sure. Now that Motorola has finally begun to roll out Android 10 to the G7 Play, what other updates can owners look forward to?
The answer to that question is none.
Motorola only promised a single OS upgrade for the G7 Play and this is it. The days of Motorola being known for its high-quality support for its devices have long since passed, sadly. The Android 10 update should begin rolling out to Moto G7 Play handsets in other regions in the next few weeks.
