Moto G Stylus and Moto G Power

Motorola has taken the wraps off of their two new rumored Moto G phones, and they're shaking things up a little bit compared to previous entries in the family.

We're getting both the Moto G Stylus and Moto G Power, marking the first Moto phone with a built-in stylus and a shift away from numbered model names. They'll also both be offered pretty extensively through US carriers.

Moto G Stylus

The Moto G Stylus is just like what its name implies: a Motorola smartphone with a built-in stylus. You're still getting a very capable device with a Snapdragon 665 CPU and 4GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage that's expandable, and that passive stylus. Motorola has developed its own Moto Notes app to help make the accessory feel a bit more integrated into the device, which should position it well against the LG Stylo and as a budget-friendly Galaxy Note alternative.

There's tons of cameras here, too, with a 16MP selfie camera, then a triple camera module on the back. That combines a 48MP main camera, a 16MP wide-angle Action Cam, and a 2MP macro camera, and it's capable of recording in 4K resolution. The only thing the phone is lacking is NFC.

Expect the Moto G Stylus to launch later this year for $299, with carrier deals on Verizon, Metro, and Republic Wireless after the initial unlocked launch.

Moto G Power

The Moto G Power is similar to the older Power models of phones, just without a new number. There's a massive 5000mAh battery here to keep the phone going all day, and it's still powered by a Snapdragon 665 CPU with 4GB of RAM. The storage gets cut to 64GB, however, and the back camera layout swaps things out for a 16MP/8MP/2MP combination.

It has the same 6.4-inch FHD+ screen as the Stylus, and both phones have dual stereo speakers tuned by Dolby, plus Android 10 out of the box. Headphone jacks are present on both models, as well as rear fingerprint scanners, water resistance, and 10W fast charging.

The Moto G Power will be slightly cheaper, costing just $249 at launch when it comes out in the Spring. After the initial unlocked run, it's expected to get carrier deals with Verizon, US Cellular, Consumer Cellular, Republic Wireless, and Xfinity Mobile.
