T-Mobile teases a $15 data plan ahead of its merger with Sprint 3

T-Mobile has been relatively quiet about any plan changes leading up to its proposed merger with Sprint, but now it looks like they might be using that potential acquisition to build up some goodwill with states and customers alike.

They've announced a new plan that's priced pretty cheaply, plus some other discounts for specific customers.

The new plan offers just 2GB of 4G/5G data and unlimited talk and text, which isn't a ton, but it's priced at just $15. That's incredibly aggressive even next to some prepaid offerings, and will certainly give lower-income customers a solid option for getting a phone without breaking the bank. Even in other situations it honestly sounds like a pretty good deal for a backup or spare phone, too.

In addition to that, T-Mobile has promised to give out 10 million mobile hotspots across the country that can deliver 100GB of data per year, which is designed at giving children and students easier access to the web. Sure, it's good PR, but it's a very great act of goodwill from T-Mobile, too.

Lastly, they're promising free unlimited 5G data access to all first responders across the country, including firefighters, police, and and EMS workers. Those plans will have unlimited talk/text/data for 10 years, which is a very big giveaway.

If you're interested, keep an eye out for the signup process for these programs soon.
