Google has quietly put in a new weather feature into Google Maps, as noted on the Google subreddit. It's a small feature, but definitely something that will help you plan out your road trips and travels a bit better, and it'll keep you from arriving somewhere cold without a jacket.
As you can see in the top left corner of the screenshot above, Google Maps now displays the current temperature of the area that you're looking at. The icon also changes depending on the weather, so you'll see clouds, rain, or just a sun for wherever you're looking at.
Sure, you can always just look up your destination in your weather app, but if you're just browsing around or want to knock it all out in one go, this is a small but nifty little feature. Unfortunately, it seems to be iOS only at the moment; I see it on my iPhone XS Max, but nothing shows up on a Galaxy S10 or LG G8 ThinQ just yet. It's likely live on the iOS build of Google Maps, and will follow shortly to the Android version in the next couple of weeks.
