"Mario Kart Tour" gets set for a September 25th release date, with pre-registration open now 4

Nintendo has been steadily teasing Mario Kart Tour news all summer, but now they're finally ready to hit the track with an actual release date. Unfortunately, it looks like Nintendo is going to miss the original target of a late summer release, but only by a few days.

Mario Kart Tour will officially be available on September 25th, which is just under a month away. They've opened up the pre-registration page for the game, too, so you'll be able to download and play it immediately.

In case you've missed it so far, the game promises classic Mario Kart gameplay but with a mobile twist. There are classic MK tracks, plus some new tracks designed to look like you're racing around real-world cities. We're not sure exactly how egregious the monetization in the game will be, but if it's like other Nintendo mobile titles, you'll at least be able to have a little bit of fun without spending too much cash.
