With gaming smartphones seemingly a thing in 2019, Qualcomm announced the gaming-focused Snapdragon 855 Plus which is basically a tweaked version of the regular Snapdragon 855 that launched at the tail-end of 2018. Since the announcement earlier this week, there has been speculation that the Pixel 4 and Samsung's Galaxy Note 10 could be powered by the SD855 Plus, alas, it may not be so.
Instead, it would appear that the US variant of the Galaxy Note 10 will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor that we've seen used in phones such as the Galaxy S10, Mi 9, OnePlus 7 Pro, and LG G8 ThinQ. The international variant will run Samsung's new 7nm Exynos 9825 processor which will hopefully be a step up from the Exynos 9820 and match the performance and battery of the SD855 chipset.
Recent leaks point to the Galaxy Note being capable of 45W fast charging, although it looks like Samsung is only providing the standard fast charger in the box. Instead, users will have to purchase the more powerful 45W charger separately at a cost of around $50. Considering that pricing of the handset is believed to start from the $999 mark, I feel that Samsung is really trying to squeeze every last drop of blood out of its customers. I mean, users have had to put up with Galaxy S and Note phones charging pretty slow compared to almost any other brands, the least that the Korean company could do is include the 45W charger. Anyhow. I digress.
With the Galaxy Note 10 officially launching on August 7th during an Unpacked event in New York, we don't have to wait too long for all to be revealed.
