Mobvoi teases July 10 launch for what could be the LTE-equipped TicWatch Pro 3

Mobvoi launched the TicWatch Pro smartwatch running Wear OS and sporting killer battery life almost a year ago, and now it seems that the company has a follow-up of some sort planned for July 10th. A video has been posted on Mobvoi's website sporting a tagline of “New Solution to Boost Your Daily Efficiency” along with a countdown.

It isn't all a mystery, though, because Mobvoi accidentally posted about a new TicWatch Pro smartwatch that is powered by Verizon, which reveals that it will sport LTE connectivity. It isn't known what other upgrades the new TicWatch Pro with LTE will carry, it may feature Qualcomm's aging SD2100 processor, or perhaps the rehashed version known as the SD3100 that has a co-processor in tow.

Navigating to Mobvoi's landing page will give you the option of entering your email address so you can be notified when the watch is announced and subsequently made available, along with an early bird discount code.

  1. Not sure how correct it is but an insider did provide me the correct launch date so here is the rest of what they said: same specs in terms of processor & RAM; smoother operation; longer battery life; slightly different look; small price bump.

    1. Sounds like a 2nd-gen dual display with a tweaked design and LTE connectivity. Thanks for that. Like every other Wear OS smartwatch, OEMs are crippled thanks to the lack of a modern processor being available. The SD3100 chip is basically a 2100 with a co-processor slapped on top, still using the 28nm process. Until Qualcomm, or perhaps MediaTek, put some resources into developing a 14nm or better chip, Wear OS will continue to stagnate.
