Google's latest version of the Google Home app is hinting at a few upcoming things on both the software and hardware side of things, including dark mode making its way to the hub app, plus a brand new device that might be coming soon. We've heard a few rumors about another Google Home-style device, so this could very well be related.
The app is preparing support for the Nest Hub Max, which is due to launch in the next few weeks. The app's code has a few mentions of Nest Hub Max now, which is pretty typical for newer devices. But that's why it's also interesting that the app is also preparing support for a device codenamed YBD. Speakers in the Home app are typically referred to with a V, so this one is probably that bigger smart device that was rumored a few weeks ago.
On the software side of things, there are a few notable additions. If you're running Android Q and you turn on battery saver or dark mode, the top and bottom of the app will turn a dark gray, hinting at a dark mode that's being worked on behind the scenes. It's already very slightly functional, which is why the app changes a bit when the system-wide toggle is turned on, so hopefully this gets delivered sooner rather than later.

The app will also manage your routines a little bit better based around alarms, and, more specifically, when you snooze alarms. Currently your alarms won't be delayed by a snoozed alarm, so if you have something set to run in the morning you're going to have all of your lights and appliances and whatever else turned on whether or not you've decided to sleep in.
And, lastly, it looks like the Home app is getting a new way to easily transfer your Google account from your phone to your Android TV during setup. Small change, but I suppose it's nice to see that Google is still paying some attention to Android TV.
