Samsung announced the Galaxy Fold to a ton of fanfare and media hype, but not long afterwards the hype train came to a screeching halt. Broken and malfunctioning displays, indefinite delays, and unanswered questions all made it hard to really count on when you could buy a real Galaxy Fold.
Things still aren't really any better today, as now Best Buy has completely canceled all of their Galaxy Fold preorders from customers.
So what exactly does this mean? Well, it could be bad; obviously anytime a retailer has to cancel a preorder, there are some issues somewhere in the chain. But with how long this phone has been delayed, it's also probably the best course of action to completely nix everything preorder and let people opt back in to the purchase after they've heard all of the details surrounding it.
Samsung previously mentioned that a new Galaxy Fold release date would be announced “soon,” but we're just a few days away from the end of May and the phone's original launch date was April 26th. At least now they won't have to worry about Huawei being a major competitor.
