Google's mid-range Pixel 3A and 3A XL are launching on May 8 3

After a year of rumours and leaks, Google's possibly interesting mid-range Pixel debuts are officially launching in 6 days at the Google I/O 2019 developer conference.

We've been bombarded with rumours and leaks of Google's debut in the mid-range market for their Pixel line for a year at this point, however we're now finally seeing some teasing confirmation of the Pixel 3A and 3A XL with an official announcement-announcement by Google on the Indian ‘Flipkart' marketplace.

Launching at Google's annual ‘I/O' developer conference in six days, the devices are supposed to sport the excellent, though now outdated, mid-range Snapdragon 710 chip with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of ROM, and hopefully the same class-leading camera from the flagship Pixel 3's into some chunky bodies with Google's borderline-trademarked huge bezels. The phones are also tipped to sport their bigger siblings' supreme 3-years of Android upgrades with an extra year of monthly security updates.

There are two big things to focus on in this launch: the cameras and the price; the only way these Pixel 3a's and 3a XL's can hope to compete against a lineup of great stock Android devices like the Nokia 8.1, and great value flagships like the Xiaomi Mi 9 and pretty Meizu 16s, is if they have significantly better cameras and/or cost less – otherwise they're DOA.

I'll save the critique for the actual launch on Wednesday when we'll see if the hopeful-$400 based price is legit though.
