Has Samsung fixed its faulty Galaxy Fold already? 4

The Galaxy Fold seemed to hit a ton of speed bumps before it was ever even released, with several reviewers having issues with the screen. iFixit didn't find that the phone was designed all that well, either, and Samsung pushed back the launch of the phone.

There's a polymer layer on the display that absolutely should not be removed, but despite that, teardowns found that some air gaps around the hinge of the phone could allow debris inside of the phone anyway, which I shouldn't have to tell you is very bad for the integrity of the device.

But has Samsung had enough time to iron out those kinks and get production up to speed yet? According to an earnings call, yes, actually. They're trying to set a new launch date in the very near future so customers can purchase the flagship folding phone.

AT&T is still working with a June 13th launch date, which may be accurate, but may just be a placeholder while Samsung gets everything finalized.

We don't know what Samsung's doing to fix the phone, however. Bright warning signs about that polymer layer should be a quick and easy fix, obviously, but working around the air gaps around the hinge could be a little more tricky, especially since so many units have already been manufactured.

Regardless, once the new batch starts going back out we're sure to hear about how many issues are left, if any.
