Sprint's CTIA Announcement: HTC EVO 3D, EVO View 4G and Morotola Xoom on Tap 3

BGR is reporting that Sprint has announced some fun stuff out of CTIA, including the specs for the HTC EVO 3D smartphone, the EVO View 4G tablet, and the fact that they'll be getting the Motorola Xoom tablet on their network. These specs come from pretty reliable sources, but BGR reminds us that they could be revised. That being said, let's dive in, shall we?First up is the HTC EVO 3D smartphone, the successor to the popular (and in my case, beloved) HTC EVO. According to the specs of this phone, it's going to be pretty impressive. These include:

  • A 4.3-inch qHD 960 x 450-pixel Autostereoscopic 3D display (pretty)
  • 4GB of RAM and 1GB ROM (though these may be reversed, according to sources)
  • A 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm 8660 Snapdragon CPU (speedy!)
  • Dual rear 5-megapixel cameras with dedicated camera button (OMG A CAMERA BUTTON! YAY!)
  • A 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera (not too shabby)
  • HDMI output with 1080p resolution (nice!)
  • And a 1730mAh battery (oohh, better battery life, especially when rooted!)

Those are pretty dang impressive specs, to be honest. The phone will also have Gingerbread as its standard OS with Sense built upon it, of course I might upgrade my own self if I'm able. :)

Now, onto the EVO View 4G tablet, of which we have fewer specs, but they're still impressive. These include (I don't own a tablet so I have less to get excited about in parentheses):

  • A seven inch 1024 x 600-pixel capacitive touch screen
  • An aluminum unibody design
  • Optional pen support through HTC Scribe (this sounds cool, honestly)
  • A 5-megapixel rear camera
  • A 1.3-megapixel front camera
  • A 4000mAh battery
  • HDMI and DLNA support.

This tablet will also be running Gingerbread. Finally, the folks at Sprint confirmed that the Motorola Xoom tablet will be coming to their network as well, and be similar to the Verizon model. This is all pretty exciting stuff, huh? Are you thinking about upgrading your EVO at all, or getting the new EVO View 4G tablet? Tell us what you think in the comments.

  1. With this coming out – why would one even entertain the thought of the Nexus S 4G? This would chew it up and spit it out and go lookin’ for dinner…

  2. The original EVO has been the best android device I have ever had, and I cannot wait for this device to come out.
