LG appears to be bent on keeping potential buyers of their devices off balance as they jumble around flagship releases in 2018. The company delayed and almost canceled the LG G7 ThinQ smartphone, but finally released in earlier this month. In the past, that would setup LG for a fall release of the next V series smartphone. However, sources believe LG is planning to move that up to as early as next month when they could launch the LG V35. Mixing things up even more, despite releasing the LG G7 ThinQ with a notch, a newly discovered image suggest the LG V35 will not have a notch.
The image comes from the Wireless Power Consortium database and shows the front of the LG V35 with no notch and thin bezels all around although the side bezels appear to be a bit on the heavy side relative to the current market. The top bezel is on the thin side but it does appear to be just thick enough to house the camera and other sensors for the front side of the device.
The fact that the image comes from the Wireless Power Consortium web site indicates the LG V35 will have wireless charging capability consistent with its predecessor, the LG V30. The other issue some have noted is the lack of the “ThinQ” branding in the model name in the database listing. There have been a few rumors that LG might drop that brand. Given all of the different variants that were submitted to the Wireless Power Consortium – about a dozen according to Evan Blass – they may have just been going more for speed of data entry as opposed to accurate and consistent branding.
Some of the other specs for the LG V35 are expected to include a 6-inch screen, 6GB of RAM, at least 64GB of storage and dual 16MP rear cameras.
