Three years ago, Samsung launched its first ruggedized tablet, the 8-inch Galaxy Tab Active. It featured an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance and a shock resistant shell. Similar in concept to the Galaxy S Active series of phones, the aging tablet is about to get a successor with the Galaxy Tab Active 2. Two variants of the tablet, Wi-Fi and LTE + Wi-Fi, will launch with model numbers SM-T390 (Wi-Fi) and SM-T395 (LTE). Both models will have a removable battery like the original, but Bixby will now be part of the show.

Voice functionality is unfortunately out. Specifications are expected to be low to mid-range, keeping the ruggedized tablet affordable.
