Honor, Huawei's sub-brand, has begun sending out invites for a press event on August 16 in San Francisco, asking the press to “save the date.” We're not quite positive what Honor will be presenting, but things are leaning towards a likely launch of the Honor 8 in the US.
Honor's teaser photo indicates that the product launch could be the Honor 8, as the invite does feature an infinity sign, otherwise known as a sideways “8.” The handset launched in China just a couple of days ago, so a US announcement around a month later wouldn't be too surprising, especially as Honor continues to try and push its products in the US.
Could we see something else other than the Honor 8? It's not likely, as the rumor mill has been pretty quiet in that regard, but then again, Honor could have a big surprise up its sleeve.
With a neat dual-camera setup, 4GB of RAM, and a Kirin 950 processor, an Honor 8 would no doubt be pretty well-received in the US.
Of course, nothing is official until it's official. So, we'll just have to wait and see what happens on August 16.
