Pokemon themes available for Android in Japan

Pokemon has released an app that will let users re-skin or theme their Android devices with Pokemon themes. The app functions much like a launcher replacement, but is limited to loading themes that let you replace the wallpaper, icons and some other features with goodies from the world of Pokemon.

The app is called Pokemon Style and currently includes themes based on existing Pokemon merchandise from suppliers like Nemuri Pikachu and Eevee Mansion. The themes that are available come in two flavors, both free and premium. With the launch of Pokemon Style, many of the premium themes are currently on sale for half price, roughly 85 cents. Pokemon Style only requires Android 4.0 or higher to run.

The other item you will need if you want Pokemon Style is an Android device with a Google account connected to Japan or a rooted device that can access location-locked applications. Hopefully for Pokemon fans around the world the app will be released in additional markets.
