While Android device manufacturers continue to push out official builds of Android 5.0 Lollipop for their newer devices, users with older devices continue to wait their turn. Owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 can hasten the process if they are willing to flash their device to install the update manually after a copy leaked.

The particular Galaxy Note 3 model that the update was built for is the SM-N9005. The update is 1.1 GB in size and includes not only Android Lollipop, but a re-designed Touchwiz UI. XDA Recognized Contributer mithun46 has put together a guide for users interested in updating their device with the firmware. Users who attempt the update should note that the update will make their device incompatible with the Xposed Framework thanks to ART. The update process reportedly takes a lot longer than previous updates, so users should not panic while they wait.

Anyone out there planning to give the update a try on their device? If so, hit the source link for more tips and warnings.
