While there are still a few stalwart developers out there that insist on only making apps available for the iOS platform, the list continues to shrink. Another example of that is the recent release of long-time iOS-only app djay 2 to the Google Play store for Android fans to snap up for only $2.99. djay 2 does just what the name sounds like – it lets the user become a DJ, mixing music from Spotify and all the music on a mobile device.
Using djay 2, professional or beginner DJs can perform live, they can record a mix on the go, or just let the app take over and Automix some tunes. In addition to accessing your music, the app gives users options to apply a variety of audio effects like Flanger, Phaser, Echo, Gate and Bit Crusher. Users can also control tempo, pitch, and set EQ levels, they can set loop and cue points and if they have a Griffin DJ Cable, they can pre-cue using headphones. The app will also automatically detect beat and tempo as well as automatically adjust gain.
