Bad news came this week from Motorola's Punit Soni. For all of you using Verizon Wireless looking to purchase the new Moto X as a Developer's Edition, prepare to be disappointed. Either Big Red or Motorola has chosen to forego this partnership, leaving the Moto X Developer Model only available through GSM carriers. This is a huge blow to all developers and tinkerers looking to actually snag a good, open phone on VZW. Hopefully the few Droids coming out later this year will feature Developers' Models, but we can't be sure just yet.

What do you think about this saddening news? I know I'm sad that my future phone won't be available to me. Leave a comment below to blow off some steam.

  1. As a long time VZW customer with grandfathered unlimited data, That truly sucks! I’d love to know who’s decision this was. I’m guessing it was VZW. Hopefully the new Droid line will have one, but it will be a couple hundred dollars more. :-(
