Owners of the Sony Xperia Z2 may notice a new application available in their Update Centre, the Sony Movie Creator app. The app is similar to some features that Google+ offers for automatically generating movies. Movie Creator auto-creates short films of about 30 seconds in length using photos and videos taken with the phone. The films that are produced are called “Highlight Movies” and Sony's system will notify you when a new one is generated.
Once a new Highlight Movie is created, users have the option to edit titles, delete scenes, or change the music. Sony also provides an option for users to export the films. Once exported, the movies can be shared with others or played in other apps. According to Sony, the highlight movies do not take up much space since they are just re-using existing content.
The new Movie Creator is available as an over-the-air update through the Sony Update Centre. If you cannot wait for it to show up for your device, the apk is available for download separately.

How can you stop it from making these things? I’ve got a lot of stuff on my phone that I’d rather wasn’t made into a cute little film….
I can’t stand this app and I can’t find a way to remove it or at the very least, disable it. It’s so annoying.
