HP hasn't offered a smartphone since 2011, but they will in 2014 sporting the Android operating system. The Slate 6 (pictured above) and Slate 7 VoiceTab will debut next month in India.

These are technically phablets since we are talking 6-inch and 7-inch displays. The specs for both devices include a 1280 x 800 6-inch or 7-inch display, an unspecified quad-core processor, 16GB of internal storage, microSD slot for expanded storage, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, and Android 4.2. As to the processor, I would expect a Snapdragon 400 or a MediaTek.

They didn't divulge pricing, but the Slate 6 is rumored to cost around $200. Whether you will ever see these outside of India is anyone's guess, but I don't think they will wind up in the U.S. either way.
